1.  Prof. M.M. Ghani Award for Best College Teachers

Dr. N. Abdul Jabbar, Reader in Arabic, Farook College has been awarded 'Prof. M.M. Ghani Award for Best College Teachers' for the year 2006-07, instituted by the University of Calicut in Commemoration of its first Vice-Chancellor, Prof. M.M. Ghani.  The award includes a cash purse and citation.  A teacher working in Govt. /Aided colleges including Professional Teacher Education, Oriental Title etc., under the jurisdiction of the University of Calicut is entitled to be considered for the award with regard to his achievements and attainments in the career. The criteria for the selection for this award includes publications, experience as research guide,  details of Ph.D produced,  references and profiles of the teacher available in books / articles. 

Dr. N. Abdul Jabbar has 6 books and 30 research articles to his credit.  His books have been prescribed for M.A. course in Kerala, Mahatma Gandhi, and Sree Sankaracharya Universities and the New College, Chennai (Autonomous).   He has presented 13 research papers in the U.G.C. / ICHR sponsored International & National Seminars conducted by various universities and centres of higher learning.  

2.  Recognition as Research Guide    

Dr. C. P. Aboobacker, Reader in Arabic, Farook College, has been granted the recognition as Research Guide of Calicut University in Arabic  with the Department of Arabic, Farook College as his Research Centre
