A) Conduct of Seminar/Workshop:
1) A national Seminar on "Recent trends in Group theory and Graph theory" was held on February 24, 2011 as a part of the College Diamond Jubilee Celebrations. Dr. A.J. Parameswaran, Director of Kerala School of Mathematics, Kozhikode, Dr. Raji Pilakkot, Associate Professor of Mathematics, Department of Mathematics, University of Calicut, Dr. K.S. Nisar, Fellow, Aligarh Muslim University and Mr. Shabeed K.C. of IV semester M.Sc. Mathematics, Farook College were the resource person in the seminar. Dr. A.J. Parameswaran handled the topic "Group Theory", Dr. Raji Pilakkot "Graph Theory", Dr. K.S. Nisar "A Study of Polynomials and Umbral Calculus" and Mr. Shabeed K.C. took the topic "Stability of Linear Systems Using Laplace Transforms".
2) A workshop "Linython" on Linux and Python for college teachers was conducted on 6 February 2011 as a College Diamond Jubilee Celebrations. Prof. C.V. Ramesan, Associate Professor, S.N. College, shrornur and Prof. K.P. Priyadarsan, Associate Professor, Govt C.K.G. College, Perambra were the resource persons. The topic "Introduction to GNU/ Linux" was handled by Prof. C.V. Ramesan and Prof. K.P. Priyadarsan, Associate Professor, Govt C.K.G. College, Perambra took the topic "Python for Education". Twenty teachers from various colleges and seven students of Farook College participated in the workshop. | |
2009-2010
A) Conduct of Seminar/Workshop:
A two-day workshop on 'Python Programming and Latex' for Mathematics students of the colleges affiliated to the University of Calicut was conducted on 20th & 21st December 2010. About seventy five students participated in the workshop. Prof. M.V. Sathyan, Department of Mathematics, Govt. Arts & Science College Kozhikode, and Prof. Saji Mathew, Department of Mathematics, St. Josephs's College, Devagiri, Kozhikode were the resource persons in the workshop. | |

A) Participation in Seminar/Workshop:
1) T. Kunheedu, Head, Department of Mathematics participated in the MHRD sponsored two day National Workshop on 'Scientific Computing with Python' conducted by FOSSEE (Free/Open Source Software for Science and Engineering Education), IIT - Bombay from 7-11-2009 to 8-11-2009 at CHMK Library, University of Calicut.
2) Dr. K.udheer, Department of Mthematics participated in the MHRD sponsored international Conference on Scipyin Action" with respect to application and teaching, and Tuotial on "Scientific Computing with Python Computing with Python" organized by FOSSEE (Free/Open Source Software for Science and Engineering Education), IIT- Bombay and SPACE from 12-12-2009 to 15-12-2009 at Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram.
3) Ms. R. Sahyida, Department of Mathematics participated in the DCE sposored state level seminar on "Free Software in Mathematics-Python and Latex" on 17 -09- 2009 and 18-09-2009 at C.K.G.M.Govt. College, Perambra.
4) Ms. R.Shayida, Department of Mathematics participated in International (Instructional School) Workshop on "Graph Theory, Combinatorics" ion 09-05-2009 to 04-06-2009 at Baskeracharya Prathishtana., Pune (Sponsored by DST, DRDO, CSIR and NBHM).
5) Ms. R.Shayida, Department of Mathematics participated in International (Instructional School) Workshop on "Number Theory, PDE and Geometry" on 24-08-2009 to 26-06-2009 at University of Calicut. (Sponsored by CSIR, NBHM, KSCSTE and ICCR).
6) Ms. R.Shayida, Department of Mathematics participated in International Conference on "Number Theory, PDE and Geometry" on 27-08-2009 to 29-06-2009 at University of Calicut. (Sponsored by CSIR, NBHM, KSCSTE and ICCR).
7) Ms K. Sabitha Guest Lecturer, Department of Mathematics participated int the DCE sponsored 18-09-2009 at C.K.G.M.Govt. College, Perambra.
8) Ms. R.Shayida, Department of Mathematics participated in the UGC sponsored National Seminar on "Mathematical Models and Methods in Applied Science" on 23-11-2009 to 25-11-2009 at K.E. College Mannanam, Kottayam.
9) Ms T.V.Ushakumari , Department of Mathematics participated in the Seminar on "Woman in Modern Kerala: Historicizing Gender and Identity' organized by the Post-graduate department of History, Farook College on 3-February 2010, at Farook College.
10) Ms. R.Shayida, Department of Mathematics participated in the 97th Indian Science Congress -International Conference on 03-01-2010 to 07-01-2010 at Kerala University (Indian Science Congress Association and DCE).
11) P Shebin Guest Lecturer, Department of Mathematics participated in the state level seminar on "Free Software in Mathematics-Python and Latex" on 17 -09- 2009 and 18-09-2009 at C.K.G.M. Govt. College, Perambra.
12) Mr. P. Shebin Guest Lecturer in Mathematics participated in the National seminar on "Wavelets Theory its Application to Stochastic Modeling" on 22 and 23rd October 2009 Providence Women's College Calicut. | |

D. K.udheer, Department of Mthematics participated and presented a paper in the NBHM sponsored National onference on "Operator Theory and Application" (OPTAS) organized by the PG Department and Researh Centre in Mathematics, ayyannur College, Payyannur held on 1st and 2nd October 2009. | |
C) Conduct of Seminar/Workshop:
A two-day workshop on 'Python Programming and Latex' for the second semester B.Sc. Mathematics students of the colleges affiliated to the University of Calicut was conducted on 31st December 2009 and 1st Janaury 2010. About seventy five students participated in the workshop. Mr. T.K. Rajan Department of Mathematics, Govt. Victoria College, Palakkad, Mr. K.P. Priyadarsan, Department of Mathematics, CKG College, Perambra, Dr. k.K. Abdullah, Department of Physics, Farook College and Dr. P.A. Subha, Department of Physics, Farook College were the resource persons in the workshop. | |

1) Mrs. C.P. Sainaba, Lecturer Selection Grade, Department of Mathematics attended the National Seminar on 'Recent Trends in Operations Research held at P.S.M.O. College, Tirurangadi, on 22nd and 23rd October 2008 as a participant.
2) Ms. R. Shayida, Lecturer Selection Grade, Department of Mathematics attended the National Seminar on 'Algebra and Discrete Mathematics' held at Government College, Kattappana, on 20th and 21st November 2008 as a participant.
3) T. Kunheedu, Head, Department of Mathematics attended the Workshop on Restructuring Under-graduate Curriculum in Mathematics on 4th to 6th March, 2009 held at the University of Calicut, organized by the Board of Studies in Mathematics (UG), sponsored by the Kerala State Higher Education Council.

Vijayamma, Lecturer Selection Grade, Department of Mathematics attended the Workshop on Restructuring Under Graduate Curriculum in Mathematics on 26th February and 4th to 6th March, 2009 held at the University of Calicut, organized by the Board of Studies in Mathematics (UG), sponsored by the Kerala State Higher Education Council.

B) Conduct of Seminar/Workshop:
A two-day workshop on 'Real Analysis' for Mathematics students of the colleges affiliated to the University of Calicut was conducted on 3rd and 4th December 2008. About seventy five students participated in the workshop. Mr. E.M. Chendrahasan, HoD of Mathematics, CIT, Vadakara , Dr. Muraleedharan, Department of Mathematics, St. Joseph's Devagiri College, Calicut and Dr. K. Sudheer, Department of Mathematics, Farook College were the resource persons for the workshop. In addition to this, a separate session on 'Career Prospects for Mathematics Students' was also engaged by Mr. O. Shafeeque, Chief Career Councilor, CIGI, Calicut. Mr. V. Kunhimon was the convenor for organising the programme. |
