National Workshop on 'Innovative Pedagogy for Laboratory Exercise in Zoology Curriculum"- A One day National workshop on "Innovative Pedagogy for Laboratory Exercise in Zoology Curriculum" for Teachers was organized by the Department of Zoology and MGDC ( Mahatma Gandhi Doerenkamp Centre), Bharthidasan University, Thiruchirapalli on 7th October 2010. It was to develop awareness on Alternatives to animal use in Life Science education.
One Day seminar on "Bioperspectives"- A one day seminar on Bioperspectives was conducted by the Department on 23rd February 2011. In whichDr. Sandhya Rani, Asst. Prof, NIT delivered a lecture on 'Nanotechnology in Biology & Medicine' ; Dr.Gopinathan, Associate Prof, Dept.of Biotechnology, Universtiy of Calicut, gavea lecture on 'Industrial Biotechnology- Scope and Future' & Dr. P.Tejas, Asst. Prof., Sree Krishna college, Guruvayoor, gave a lecture on 'Tumour Angiogenesis'.
Participation in Workshop/Seminar:
Dr. C.Zeenath, Head of Dept of Zoology presented a Paper in 23rdKerala Science Congress held at Centre for Earth Science Studies, Tvm on 29th January 2011 and got First prize in poster session of Environmental Sciences.
Mrs. T.P.Shabana, Asst Prof, Zoology dept. & Dr. T.R.Sobha, Asst. Prof, Zoology Dept. attended two day workshop on 'Training Workshop in Bioinformatics' conducted by Dept of Zoology, MES College, Ponnani on 4th & 5th August, 2010.
Dr. S.V. Abdul Hameed , Asst. Prof, Dept of Zoology & I Sem PG students of Zoology attended one day seminar on "Vertebrate Diversity of Western Ghats " on 2nd and 3rd November 2010, conducted by Dept of Zoology, PSMO College, Tirurangadi.
Mrs. A.P.Rashiba, Asst. Prof, Dept of Zoology, attended three day workshop on "Bioinformatics" conducted by Dept. of Biotechnology, University of Calicut on 28th,29th & 30th of October, 2010.
