Accreditation

Being a frontier institution with a tradition of tradition of six and a half decade, Farook College has been awarded with a lot of accreditations and awards.

  • Award of Campus Diversity Initiative grant from Ford Foundation: As a token of its commitment to the cause of higher education, the college was selected by the Ford Foundation, New York, to receive a major grant under its project Campus Diversity Initiative.  Farook College is the only one in the state and one of the few in the country to receive the grant.

 

  • R. Sanker Award for the best special grade (Private) college in the state of Kerala in 1997 – ’98, 1999 – 2000:  The College has been adjudged by the Government of Kerala to receive R. Sanker Award for the best special grade (Private) college in the state of Kerala for the years 1997 – ’98, 1999 – 2000.

 

  • Accreditation of Five Star Level by the National Assessment Accreditation Council (NAAC),  in 2002: The College was accredited at five star level by the National Assessment Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore, in 2002 and has been re-accredited at ‘A’ Grade with a CGPA of 3.34 on a four point scale valid from March 2009.

 

  • Reaccreditation of ‘A’ Grade with a CGPA of 3.34 by the National Assessment Accreditation Council (NAAC), in 2000: The College was accredited at five star level by the National Assessment Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore, in 2002 and has been re-accredited at ‘A’ Grade with a CGPA of 3.34 on a four point scale valid from March 2009.

 

  • Conferment of the status as a College with Potential for Excellence by UGC: The college has been identified by the UGC as a College with Potential for Excellence, the only college under Calicut University to receive the status.

 

  • Recipient of The Moulana Abul Kalam Azad Literacy Award instituted by Moulana Azad Education Foundation, New Delhi:  Farook College has won the Moulana Abul Kalam Azad Literacy Award instituted by Moulana Azad Education Foundation, New Delhi under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India for promoting education among the educationally backward minorities.

 

  • Conferment of Minority Status by The National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions, Govt. of India: The National Commission for Minority Educational Instiutions, Govt. of India, has granted Minority Status to the College.

 

  • Conferment of Autonomous Status by UGCAutonomy Status in 2015: The University Grant Commission, New Delhi has granted Autonomous Status to Farook College for a period of six years from 2015-16 to 2020-21 on the recommendation of the Committee constituted by the UGC under the Chairmanship of Prof. Suparna Guptu , Director, Gandhian Studies Centre, University of Calcutta. The Committee visited the College on 10 & 11 October 2014 to evaluate the performance of the college. The Committee interacted with the members of the Managing Committee, Principal, Staff and Students of the College.

 

  • e-Campus Award 2014-15: Farook College received the e-Campus Award 2014-15 instituted by the University of Calicut for the affiliated Arts and Science Colleges in recognition of its commendable achievements in terms of excellence in e-governance and technology use in Education and Management. The award was received by Prof. E.P. Imbichikoya, Principal, Farook College from Vice- Chancellor Dr. M. Abdul Salam in a function held on 31 December 2014.
  • NAAC Reaccreditation at A+ Level in 2016: NAAC accredits Farook College with A+ Level with a CGPA of 3.51.
