Wildlife Week is celebrated all over the country in the month of October from 2nd to 8th October every year with the view to preserve the fauna means the animal life of the India. Wildlife Week 2016 was celebrated by Department of Zoology and Canopy Nature Club by organizing various educational programmes to promote wildlife conservation. An Inter Departmental Quiz Completion on Wildlife was organized in Zoology smart room. Ms. Apporva Gopinath and Ms. Fahima won he first prize in the competition. A video documentary about the wildlife conservation was screened in connection with Wildlife week celebration. Snake awareness programme and snake show was organized in the Zoology smart room. Mr. Rahman Uppodan (Animal Rescuer) led the awareness class and he provided the students with valuable information regarding the snakes. He also pointed out the indispensible responsibility of student community to play their role in wildlife protection, conservation and management.
Ms. Shabana T.P, Head, Department of Zoology presided over the awareness class, Dr. H. Habeebrehman, Coordinator, Canopy Nature Club introduced the chief guest and Ahmed Saleel, Student Convener, Canopy Nature Club proposed the vote of thanks.
