Post Graduate and Research Department of History, Farook College, Kozhikkode, Department of History, P.S.M.O College, Thirurangangadi in association with Social History Collective, Kozhikkode is organising two day International Seminar  on “Early Modern and Colonial in History Concepts and cases in South Aisa” from 4th, 5th March 2019 at Farook College and PSMO collective respectively. Indias transition to modernity has been a prominent theme on which historian of different shools of thought have shown deep interest due to its telling significane in understanding the conteporary developments in south asia. The Seminar intends to provide a platform where the latest sudies in the area could be debated and discussed.

The seminar will be officially inagurated on 4th March 2019 at Farook college Campus by Dr. K.T Jaleel, the  Minister of Higher Education Kerala. Dr. K Muhammed Basheer, Vice chanceller Calicut University will be the guest of honour.

Prof. Seema Alavi (Delhi University) Prof. Sekhar Bandyopadhyay (University of Wellington, New Zealand) Prof. K.N Ganesh( Formerly Professor, University of Calicut) Prof. Nirmal Ranjith Dewasiri ( Colombo University, Sri Lanka) Dr. Mahmood Kooria (University Leiden, The Ntherlands), Dr. Sebastian Joseph (U.C College, Aluva), Dr. K.S. Madhavan (Department of History, Calicut University),Dr. M.P Mujeebu Rahiman( Department of History, Calicut University) and Abdur Rahoof Ottanthingal (University Leiden,The Ntherlands) will deliver special lectures in the seminar.
