The National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL), a project funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), provides e-learning through online Web and Video courses in Engineering, Sciences, Technology, Management and Humanities. This is a joint initiative by seven IITs and IISc Bangalore. Other selected premier institutions also act as Associate Partner Institutions.
NPTEL is one of the national coordinators of Ministry of HRD’s prestigious Study Webs of Active – Learning for Young Aspiring Minds (SWAYAM) programme. All courses offered by NPTEL are part of SWAYAM.
All courses offered by NPTEL can be attended free of cost. A fee of Rs 1000/- is to be paid for appearing for the examinations.
Farook College has been established as a local chapter of NPTEL. Students enrolled from Local Chapter will get 50% discount for examination fee. Payments can also be made through the Local Chapter. Local chapter institutions will also have the access to hall tickets, results and certificate.
NPTEL recently announced 160 open courses that belong to various disciplines. List and description of these courses are available at the NPTEL portal https://onlinecourses.nptel.ac.in/explorer.
