Farook College has been established as a local chapter of National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL). NPTEL is a project funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), provides e-learning through online Web and Video courses in Engineering, Sciences, Technology, Management and Humanities. This is a joint initiative by seven IITs and IISc Bangalore.
All courses offered by NPTEL are part of Ministry of HRD’s prestigious Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds (SWAYAM) programme. All courses offered by NPTEL can be attended free of cost. A fee of Rs 1100/- is to be paid for appearing for the examinations.
Eligible students enrolled from Local Chapter will get up to 50% discount for examination fee – candidates who successfully completed their courses and cleared the final examinations will be eligible for refund. Local chapter institutions will also have the access to hall tickets, results and certificate.
NPTEL announced 290 open courses that belong to various disciplines for the January – April 2018 session. List and description of these courses are available at the NPTEL portal https://onlinecourses.nptel.ac.in/explorer.

Please note that in the previous semester, there were 387 registrations from our college, including faculty members, students and alumni. Out of these 36 candidates paid the examination fee and attended the examination. 32 candidates successfully completed their courses. Jithin (BSc Botany) and Salmanul Fares (BSc Computer Science) secured top positions for their courses.
