Farook College is getting all geared up to host the third annual meet of the Kerala History Congress on Dec 9,10 and 11. As eminent historians, researchers and students of history come together it will be a melting pot of different schools of thought.  In the modern scenario as analysis and reinterpretation of history is very much in the limelight across the world the Kerala History Congress will give a new insight.

Education Minister Prof C Raveendranath will inaugurate the meet on 9 th Dec and K T Jaleel, Minister of Local Self Govt will be the chief guest. Eminent historian Prof K N Panikker will preside over the function. Prof Dawood Ali, Pennsylvania University will deliver the keynote address. Calicut University Vice Chancellor Dr K Mohammed Basheer will address the audience followed by several Erudite lectures. The winners of the intercollegiate quiz competitions will be felicitated.

On Dec 10 th eminent media  personality B R P Bhaskar will deliver the M Govindan memorial lecture. The next session is by C Gauridasan Nair, The Hindu for the Mohamed Abdurehman Sahib memorial lecture followed by Prof M T Ansari, Hyderabad University delivering the K K Mohamed Abdul Kareem memorial lecture. A panel discussion on the history of the Islamic society in Kerala is also scheduled.

On the final day a panel discussion on social stratification in Kerala includes several eminent personalities. An exhibition of several historic relics will be a treasure house of knowledge. The  programme also includes publication of five books and one research journal. Prof Gopinath Raveendran, Vice Chancellor, Kannur University will deliver the concluding address.
